As I sit here, writing to the wind, sending thoughts on the ocean of the Internet in this imaginary bottle called a blog, I can't help but wonder about the nature of art.
Sometimes art becomes a catalyst for reflection. The artist's vision cascades over me and finds a still place and nestles there. When I create my own art, I am in that cascading place, trying to capture it somehow, trying to map the way there. It is bliss. An agonizing bliss, but still bliss.
Not all art calls me.
What is art to me is what startles me and intrigues me and ignites my childlike wonder. It is form and color and word and sound and always indefinable.
Nature is awesome. I think the nature of art is to evoke awe by what has been created by intention, by some "one" as opposed to some "thing."
What is art to you? How do you know you are in the presence of art?
