A Spring Ameriku

The Artist’s Concept

And Blushes Bud compares the awakening touch of the sun—which represents yang, the masculine principle in Chinese philosophy—to sexual arousal. Is this the spring of a new relationship, or is it the eternal spring in the lovemaking of a familiar couple? The wild cherry cannot bud until it has been fingered by the sun. The touch of the sun is warm and sensual, like the good lover. The sun fingers the naked limbs, and then the sap flows, in that order and not the other way around. And after that, the blushes bud. Which is what spring is all about, isn’t it?
